Below are some of my favorite political cartoons from last week. Enjoy!

Good selection as usual. Santorum is close to crossing the line from being an actual candidate to becoming a joke candidate / spoiler / fake vanity campaign guy (the last category has always included Ron Paul).

dmarks: I'm glad you enjoyed the comics. I agree with your assessment of Rick Santorum. At 2 pm today, he is scheduled to have a press conference. This would be the perfect time to announce he's dropping out of the race. Assuming he plans to run again in 2016, staying in the race will only damage his chances for the next election.

I think those cartoons were great! Poor elephant!!

I am still a fan of Santorum, but I believe he may be suspending his campaign due to the health of his daughter, Bella. We'll see what he has to say.

I hope he doesn't. I do not want Romney.

Leticia: Yeah, that poor elephant did take a beating.

It looks like one of your worst fears has come true: Santorum has dropped out of the race. Even though you don't want Romney, you'll still hold your nose and vote for him anyway. :-)

As a failed (rejected) former US senator who hasn't done much since 2007, his thin resume will only look worse in the next election, by which time 9 years will have passed since he did anything of consequence to help him qualify for the job of Leader of the Free World. Unless he changes his career path and really does something, he's toast in the next round.

dmarks: Like you alluded to, Santorum is going to have to beef up his résumé if he expects to run again. Even if he does, the road to the White House won't be easy. Assuming there is a GOP field in 2016, it's likely to include people like Jeb Bush and Chris Christie.
