Megyn Kelly Set to Take the 9 PM Slot On Fox News

According to a UPI.com story, Fox anchor Megyn Kelly will be taking over the 9 pm timeslot on Fox News once she returns from maternity leave this fall. This doesn't come as a big surprise because the powers that be at Fox have been grooming Kelly for prime time for at least a couple of years. With this impending primetime shakeup, my guess is that Sean Hannity's program will move an hour back to 10 pm and Greta Van Susteren (who currently holds the 10 pm slot) may want to brush up her résumé

Kelly's move to the 9 pm slot on Fox will be an upgrade over the current occupant and a better complement to The O'Reilly Factor. It's no secret I'm no fan of Sean Hannity, but it's not because he's a conservative. I don't like him because he's habitually dishonest, whiny, and boring. The trifecta of bad broadcasting. Although I've had issues with Kelly, she can be one of the more reasonable voices at Fox (which is like calling Moe the "smart Stooge"). Change can be a good thing and I'm intrigued to see what Kelly does with her upcoming primetime show.

The clip below is from a spring 2013 segment of America Live with Megyn Kelly in which Kelly challenged guests Erick Erickson and Lou Dobbs on their views about women in the workplace.

Lou Dobbs is horrible. A "national socialist" if there ever was one, with Buchananesque views when it comes to immigrants, trade, and other such matters. A real enemy of the middle class that he supposedly speaks in defense of. He was a blight upon CNN, and is now a blight on Fox?

Mostly agreeing with you on Hannity. But I think he tends to cheap insults more than outright dishonesty.

dmarks again with his plutocrat supporting lies about those opposing free trade doing so because they are racist. Unfortunately Dobbs and Buchanan lend credence to his ridiculous fantasies that revolve around consumer choice being the deciding factor in whether or not we allow the destruction of good paying middle class jobs.

Sorry, again it has nothing to do with plutocrats.

Dervish, I support your right to not buy a Hyundai due to your prejudices about Asian people. But I do not support your "right", or anyone else's "right" to force this one-size-fits-few decision on everyone through the government.

President Obama is correct to see that free-and-fair trade creates middle class jobs, anyway.

The only "fantasies" involved are put forth by folks like Dobbs, Buchanan, and those who think that the only people who should decide what decisions are "fair" are a few at the top.

This issue has EVERYTHING to do with the plutocrats.

I do not support your ability to buy a Hyundai due to your prejudices against American workers and prejudices in favor of the plutocrats. As for my prejudices against Asian people... I have none. The right to "force" people to pay tariffs exists within the constitution.

dmarks: ...those who think that the only people who should decide what decisions are "fair" are a few at the top.

This is what YOU believe. Instead of "we the people" deciding dmarks wants the plutocrats deciding.

dmarks: After his exit from CNN, his move to Fox was a predictable next step. It's a shame you've decided to quit commenting here. I was enjoying your battle with Dervish.

Did dmarks say he was leaving?

Dervish: Yes, I believe dmarks has taken his ball and gone home. He got mad because I deleted some of his comments in the thread of the post I wrote in June about the Cheerios ad. He even accused me of trying to enforce "ideological purity" on my blog. The reason I deleted his comments is because he doesn't know how to let an argument go. After I realized we had reached a dead end in our debate about what constitutes race bashing, I told him it was time to move on because it was getting tiresome. He responded by once again stating basically the same thing he had said already! I don't have time for that.

Are you sure you're not talking about wd/DS who never heard of letting go of an argument.

Kelly should be an absolute favorite amongst the new-age feminist movement out there that insists the patriarchy doesn't hire and pay women well for fear they might get preggers.

Kelly only works four friggin' months out of the year before going away to spit out another baby. Yet she's not only kept around by her employer but is getting a prime-time promotion.

Her strange beliefs and politics aside, she should definitely be a role model for young girls who want to work part-time and on their terms for a 1%er's salary.

Kelly is smart, savvy, capable, respected, and that probably explains your disdain for her.

The left never disappoints.

What happened to the "BS" and the "anon" RN? You aren't trying to carry our feud over to other blogs, are you?

Josh: Wow! You make Megyn sound like Octomom or something. Plus, I think she puts in more time at work than you're willing to give her credit for doing.

Rational Nation: Are your comments directed at me or Josh (who commented right above you)? I ask because I don't see where you're getting that I have disdain for her. Josh, on the other hand...

By the way, I'm quite sure I meant dmarks. The dude doesn't know when to quit.
